Murlo is the current name for the red wine color. These coin pearls are natural but dyed to this beautiful red. The trees in my area reflect these Fall colors. I bought the pendant from an auction site which I frequent as it sells vintage jewelry supplies. The pendant is over 40 years old and has stood the test of time. The toggle clasp has pink crystals and still matches the beads. Small silver color metal beads separate each pearl from the other and add to the beauty of the necklace.
The necklace is shorter than the ones I make since choker like lengths are coming back into vogue. The length is 24 " and the pearls are about 10 mm in size. The round pendant is 1" in size. It exhibits chatoyance like Tiger Eye beads and is very unique. The silver hardware adds to the richness of the Murlo beads and pendant.
This shade of red is neutral and matches outfits of many colors and flatters skin tones of all colors. The necklace goes to the office and to a party with the same level of fashion and glamor.
Care: Wipe with soft cloth and do not use spray or other chemicals on the pearls. As with all porous gems pearls need care in handling and storing.
