Tassels have been around as embellishments in jewelry for a very long time. Asian and some European countries have used textiles in jewelry making for centuries. Leather was also a part of these cultures as were many natural objects. The Cotton Brown tassel used in this necklace hangs from a copper colored holder with a small metallic shell on it and is topped by a black crystal bead.
A brown leather cord is used to string ceramic beads which are said to change color and the vendor called them Mirage Mood Beads. They are copied from the mood beads of the 60's and 70's. The thermo-sensitive liquid crystal beads: (1) change color as they are worn; and (2) change color with temperature changes. Sounds interesting and may even be high tech.
Dimensions: Necklace: 26 " (adjustable to 30"); Tassel: 4 1/2 " x 1 1/2"; Leather cord: 5 mm; Mood Beads: Round (3) 10 mm; Diamond Shape (3) 10 mm; Flat ceramic beads (various shapes) 5 mm to 10 mm; Sea shell tassel holder: 10 mm x 12mm; Black round Crystal Ball: 12 mm.
